Dr. Mohamad Elfakhani is Psychiatry Site Chief at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Western University. He finished his residency training in psychiatry at Western University and has also completed a Global Mental Health: Trauma and Recovery Certificate through the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma and a Certificate in Alcohol and Addiction Studies from Wayne State University.

His clinical practice currently involves Inpatient/Outpatient components, Refugee Psychiatry, Emergency Psychiatry, CL Psychiatry and Electroconvulsive therapy.

In addition to his administrative role as Site Chief and a very busy clinical practice, Dr. Elfakhani is passionate about medical education. He was formerly Course Chair for Meds 5207 and is currently the Week Captain for Mood Disorders for the course. He also regularly supervises third and fourth year clerkship students and psychiatry residents at Western University.
