Codie Primeau (he/him; il) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Physical Therapy at Western University. He is also an Affiliate Scientist with Arthritis Research Canada, a Scientist with Western's Bone & Joint Institute, a Research Affiliate with the Community-Based Research Centre, and an inaugural committee member of the Queer Physiotherapy Collective (Canada).

His research focuses on improving mobility, health outcomes, and healthcare experiences for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular emphasis on health equity. Using mixed-methods approaches, his work integrates qualitative and quantitative methodologies to investigate arthritis, orthopedics, pelvic health, clinical biomechanics, health economics, and 2S/LGBTQIA+ health. His research evaluates the clinical and cost-effectiveness of physiotherapy and surgical interventions for chronic conditions such as arthritis, chronic pain, and pelvic health disorders, while also examining barriers to healthcare access and delivery, particularly in affirming care for 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities.

A central focus of his program of research is meaningful partnership with patients, community members, and healthcare stakeholders to co-develop research that addresses priorities identified by those most affected. He supervises and mentors students and trainees across physiotherapy, rehabilitation sciences, health services research, and community-engaged health research.

He supervises undergraduate and graduate students interested in musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation, health equity, health economic evaluation, patient and community engagement, and 2S/LGBTQIA+ health.
