Distinguished University Professor Jane Rylett is a prominent researcher in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University. Her work focuses on cholinergic signaling, neurochemistry, and Alzheimer’s disease, notably the regulation of acetylcholine synthesis in health and aging. She seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms of cognitive decline and the potential for neuroprotective interventions. A Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, she holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University and is a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute. She supervises graduate students in the Western Institute for Neuroscience and is available for doctoral mentorship.
