Assistant Professor Rokhsana Mortuza serves in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University. Her research centers on molecular pathology and the mechanisms of tissue injury in metabolic diseases. She investigates the role of cellular signaling pathways in the progression of diabetic complications and tissue fibrosis. Her mission is to identify novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets through the study of cellular and molecular pathology. Dr. Mortuza provides research supervision for graduate students and contributes to the pathology curriculum. She utilizes advanced molecular biology tools to unravel disease mechanisms and improve patient outcomes through precision medicine.
