BIO
Professor Tryphonopoulos’ research program focuses on maternal mental health and examines how parent-child relationships are affected by “toxic stressors” (e.g., perinatal mood disorders, violence exposure, and substance abuse), which are known to affect children’s development negatively. She is committed to developing and testing strengths-based parenting interventions (using video-feedback as well as other modalities) that support vulnerable families with a view to promote developmental outcomes for infants and children.
