Assistant Professor Andrea Cowan conducts research in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. Her scholarly work emphasizes nephrology, clinical trials, and patient-centered care, focusing on the management of chronic kidney disease and its complications. She investigates the effectiveness of interventions aimed at improving the quality of life and survival of patients undergoing dialysis. Holding a Medical Degree and a Master of Science, she is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute. She supervises graduate researchers in the field of clinical epidemiology and is currently available for academic mentorship and doctoral student supervision in medical research.
