Assistant Professor Michael J. Fruci serves in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. His research centers on viral pathogenesis and the host immune response to respiratory infections. He investigates the molecular mechanisms of viral replication and the development of novel vaccine candidates to enhance public health. His mission is to advance infectious disease research through the study of cellular signaling pathways and viral evolution. Dr. Fruci provides research supervision for graduate students and is involved in teaching undergraduate microbiology. He is dedicated to identifying therapeutic targets to combat emerging viral threats.
