Associate Professor Shih-Han Susan Huang, Departments of Medicine and Medical Biophysics, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on chronic kidney disease, renal biomarkers, non-invasive imaging techniques, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, and kidney pathophysiology. Trained in both Medical Biophysics and Clinical Nephrology, she studies how advanced imaging and biomarker discovery can improve understanding of renal disease and its complications. Her research mission is to improve survivorship in chronic kidney disease through earlier detection and better mechanistic insight. A notable highlight is Ontario Research Fund support for work on brain structure and function in thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
