Assistant Professor Melissa Y. W. Chin, Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, builds her academic profile around quality improvement, patient safety, anesthesia education, perioperative medicine, and competency-based training. Her work is shaped by fellowship training in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and by leadership roles in postgraduate education. Her mission is to make perioperative care safer by pairing systems thinking with stronger anesthesia training. She also serves as Co-Director of the Postgraduate Education Program and Competence by Design lead, reflecting substantial supervision and curriculum leadership at Western University.
