Professor Christopher G. Brown, Department of Classical Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Western University is the William Sherwood Fox Professor of Classics. He researches Greek poetry, drama, religion, Pre-Socratics, and Roman poetry with a focus on how early Greek and Roman texts shape literary, intellectual, and religious traditions in the ancient Mediterranean. Brown’s scholarship centers on close reading and interpretation across Greek and Roman literature, positioning research as the foundation of his work at Western University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Toronto and contributes advanced expertise to Classics through sustained work on archaic and classical texts.
