Assistant Professor Christopher Bonham serves in the Department of Biochemistry at Western University. His research focuses on structural biology and protein-protein interactions, specifically investigating the molecular basis of signal transduction in cancer cells. He utilizes X-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance to determine the three-dimensional structures of therapeutic targets. His mission is to use structural insights to design more potent and selective small-molecule inhibitors for the treatment of metabolic diseases. He supervises graduate researchers in the development of biochemical assays. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and is available for interdisciplinary research regarding drug discovery.
