Dr. Michael Mak is a sleep medicine specialist and psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario and completed his Residency in Psychiatry with Western University. Dr. Mak joined the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University as a Full Time Clinical Academic faculty at the Rank of Assistant Professor in 2016. He was inducted Fellow of the Canadian Psychiatric Association in 2022. Dr. Mak was elected VP Clinical of the Canadian Sleep Society in 2023. He was inducted Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine in 2024. He is a standing member of the Royal College AFC Committee in Sleep Disorder Medicine.
His research interest focuses on the interplay of sleep and psychiatry.
