Associate Professor Christopher Appleton is a researcher in the Department of Medicine at Western University. His primary investigative work centers on rheumatology, osteoarthritis, and joint inflammation with a focus on the molecular mechanisms of cartilage degradation. He seeks to identify early biomarkers and therapeutic targets for arthritic diseases to prevent long-term disability. Holding a Medical Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University, he is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology.
