BIO
Dr. Juan Pablo Borda is a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist at London Health Sciences Centre and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. He earned his medical degree in 2010 and completed residency training in Psychiatry in 2016 at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2024, he obtained a Master of Science in Public Health with a focus on mental health from King’s College London, followed by a two-year Fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at the University of Toronto (University Health Network), completed in 2025.
At LHSC, Dr. Borda runs the Psycho-Oncology Clinic and is a member of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team. His clinical and academic work focuses on psycho-oncology, transplant psychiatry, critical care psychiatry, and the psychiatric care of patients with complex medical illness. His research and scholarly interests center on the development and evaluation of consultation-liaison psychiatry and psycho-oncology services, particularly for vulnerable populations and in low- and middle-income countries, as well as quality improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening the integration of mental health into medical care.
