Distinguished University Professor Vladimir Hachinski is a world-renowned researcher in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences at Western University. His work focuses on stroke, dementia, and multi-infarct dementia, notably pioneering the concept of the heart-brain connection. He seeks to develop integrated strategies for the global prevention of stroke and cognitive decline. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and recipient of the Killam Prize, he holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto. He supervises research at the Robarts Research Institute and is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience, currently available for academic consultation and high-level doctoral mentorship.
