Professor Stanley D. Dunn is a member of the Department of Biochemistry at Western University. His research centers on molecular biology and protein engineering, specifically investigating the structure and function of ATP synthase and bacterial chaperones. He explores protein-protein interactions and the assembly mechanisms of complex molecular motors. His mission is to unravel the biochemical pathways of energy transduction to inform drug design and biotechnology. Dr. Dunn provides extensive supervision for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. He is a recognized expert in molecular genetics and previously served as the Associate Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Dr. Dunn has held research funding from MRC/CIHR throughout his career and has published many original scientific papers. He is heavily involved in the scientific community, having served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Biological Chemistry, peer review committees for CIHR, and he has been elected Chair of the prestigious Bioenergetics Gordon Research Conference. He was the founding Director of the London Regional Proteomics Centre. His contributions to Western in teaching, research and service have been recognized through the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research and a Distinguished University Professor Award.
