Professor George Heckman, Department of Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on frailty, long-term care, interRAI scales, functional decline, and geriatric medicine. His scholarship examines trajectories of decline in older adults and builds bridges between evidence and practice across healthcare settings, with recent Western University coverage highlighting his work on interRAI-based assessment and cardiovascular vulnerability in aging. His research mission is to improve care systems for older adults through better measurement, prediction, and clinical application. He also contributes to geriatric medicine teaching and scholarly leadership at Western University.
