Description of Research Activities: My key clinical interest areas:

  1. Diagnosis and management of infections in the immunocompromised host.
  2. Optimization of testing to ensure timely and effective diagnosis and stewardship of lab resources
  3. Understanding changing antimicrobial trends and ensuring Lab preparedness for testing and evaluation of newer anti microbial agents/ newer testing methodologies.
  4. Resident/ Post graduate training, education and mentorship.
  5. Working at the intersection of Infection control and Microbiology to streamline rapid detection of Antibiotic resistant organisms (AROs) and preventing Hospital acquired infections (HAIs).

  1. Evaluation and implementation of new tests for detection of anti microbial resistance and rapid detection of micro organisms
  2. Understanding the impact of lab testing as it pertains to infection control and stewardship
  3. Optimizing blood culture testing, reporting and utilization, to improve patient management and decrease misuse of antibiotics and LOS in hospitals.
