My lab studies bird migration, focusing on how variation in prey resources affects the capacity of birds to prepare for and recover from long distance flights. In particular, I am interested in how different kinds of diets contribute to migratory success and how climate and land use change alter the diets available to birds. I seek ways to incorporate information on how bird habitat and nutrient needs change during the year into conservation, restoration, and species-at-risk recovery plans.
