BIO
Professor Karel Tyml is a member of the Department of Medical Biophysics at Western University. His research centers on microvascular physiology, specifically investigating the regulation of blood flow and capillary recruitment in sepsis and diabetes. He explores the molecular mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction and the role of oxidative stress in microcirculatory failure. His mission is to advance the understanding of vascular health through the study of cell signaling and intravital microscopy. Dr. Tyml provides extensive research supervision for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. He is a recognized expert in microcirculation and has contributed significantly to vascular biology.
