Assistant Professor Maya Tong is a member of the Department of Ophthalmology at Western University. Her research focuses on medical and surgical retina, specifically investigating the management of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She evaluates the efficacy of novel intravitreal therapies and surgical techniques in improving visual outcomes for patients with retinal disorders. Her mission is to advance eye health through clinical innovation and the study of retinal vascular disease. Dr. Tong provides clinical teaching and supervision for ophthalmology residents and retina fellows. She is dedicated to optimizing diagnostic and therapeutic pathways to prevent vision loss.
