Assistant Professor Michael Pyne has a passion for teaching and a history of academic excellence. He joins Western, coming from his role as a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Synthetic Biology at Concordia University.
Pyne's academic career began by studying biotechnology as an undergraduate student, then transitioned to chemical engineering for his PhD. He ultimately combined these two interests when synthetic biology emerged as a new and promising field in Canada.
