BIO

Assistant Professor Teklab Gebregiworgis, Departments of Biochemistry and Oncology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on deregulated cell signaling, metabolism, pancreatic cancer-associated fibroblasts, cancer metabolism, and translational biochemistry. His lab investigates how altered signaling and metabolic programs drive cancer biology, with recent Western University recognition for work characterizing the metabolic phenotype of pancreatic cancer-associated fibroblasts. His research mission is to uncover actionable metabolic vulnerabilities in cancer. He holds a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed postdoctoral research at University Health Network in Toronto.
