BIO
Dr. Cornel Grey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Western University. His research examines Black queer life through the politics of intimacy, embodiment, care, and health. Drawing on qualitative and archival methods, he studies how Black queer men navigate desire, pleasure, vulnerability, touch, and risk in ways that challenge dominant frameworks in medicine, public health, and sexuality studies. His broader scholarship examines how racism, cis-heteronormativity, pandemic response, and health systems shape the lives of Black, racialized, and 2S/LGBTQ+ communities. He has held research fellowships with the University of Sydney and the Center for Black, Brown, and Queer Studies.
