Assistant Professor Mitchell L. Hammond, Department of History, Faculty of Social Science, Western University, researches social history, medical history, early modern Europe, public health, and epidemic disease. His research focus is German cities in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and the longer history of how disease shapes modern life. He teaches courses on epidemics, Western medicine, and early modern history, and his book Epidemics and the Modern World reflects this integrated research agenda at Western University.
