Assistant Professor Nikki Rotas works within the Faculty of Education at Western University, specializing in early childhood pedagogies and curriculum studies. Her research program investigates the role of affect in teaching and learning through community-based and urban contexts. By utilizing keywords such as early childhood pedagogies, affect theory, and research-creation, she explores how visual and arts-based methodologies can transform educational practice. Dr. Rotas’ mission involves developing innovative methods that appeal to philosophy with children and embodied learning. She teaches in the teacher education program and supervises graduate students exploring the intersection of philosophy, art, and childhood development.
