Assistant Professor Jesus Chavarria conducts research in the Department of Psychology at Western University. His scholarly work focuses on addiction, clinical psychology, and mental health, particularly the risk factors associated with substance use disorders. He investigates how personality traits and cognitive processes influence the development and treatment of alcohol and drug dependency. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from Florida State University, he is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience. He supervises graduate students in clinical training and research on impulsivity and addiction, and he is currently available for academic mentorship and doctoral student supervision in the field of mental health.
