Manish Oza is an assistant professor at Western Law. He works on legal philosophy, property and contract. His main research project is about the authority of nonstate groups, such as clubs, churches, unions and political parties, and how they intersect with the authority of the state. He also has an ongoing project about the nature of legal reasoning.

With Andy Yu, Manish co-organises an interdisciplinary project on law and language.

Manish completed a JD and a PhD in philosophy at the University of Toronto, and clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
