BIO

Dr. Noha Gomaa is an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, and a Scientist at the Children’s Health Research Institute. Her research program, the Society to Cell Oral Health Lab (S2CL), aims to characterize the modifiable risk factors for oral diseases particularly in medically and socially complex populations and evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of oral health-focused clinical and policy interventions. 

 

Dr. Gomaa serves in various governance and leadership roles. In addition to her role as the Associate Director of Research at Schulich Dentistry, she is the Vice President of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR) and President-Elect at the Behavioural, Epidemiological, and Health Services Research Group (BEHSR) of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). She is also a scientific advisor at the National Advisory of the Office of the Chief Dental Officer of Canada. More recently, she has been appointed to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) Council as Western University's representative, and has taken on the role of Vice Chair of the Research Committee at the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB).

 

Dr. Gomaa supervises graduate students in the Departments of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, School of Health Studies where she is cross-appointed. She is currently accepting trainees at the MSc and PhD levels.
