Associate Professor Jane Thornton serves in the Department of Family Medicine and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. Her research program integrates sport medicine, physical activity as medicine, and chronic disease prevention to promote lifelong health. She specifically focuses on the role of exercise in the management of musculoskeletal and cardiovascular conditions. Having earned a Medical Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy, she is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute and a Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity and Health. She supervises graduate students exploring health promotion and is currently available for academic mentorship and research consultation.
