BIO

Assistant Professor Veronica Guariglia Oropeza serves in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. Her research centers on bacterial pathogenesis and the molecular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions. She investigates how environmental cues regulate virulence gene expression in enteric pathogens to understand infection colonization. His mission is to identify novel antimicrobial targets by unraveling the metabolic pathways of pathogenic bacteria. Dr. Guariglia Oropeza provides research supervision for graduate students and contributes to the undergraduate microbiology curriculum. She utilizes functional genomics to explore bacterial adaptation and survival strategies within the human host.
