BIO

Dr. Zulfiquer Ali Haider is a tenured Associate Professor of Corporate Governance in the DAN Department of Management & Organizational Studies at Western University. Dr. Haider studies how the firm, through decisions made by its board and management, can meet the interests of different stakeholders and succeed as socially responsible businesses. His research centres around the intersection of entrepreneurship, corporate governance, behavioral finance, and ethics. Professor Haider is particularly intrigued by family-owned organizations, where he explores matters pertaining to these areas. Zulfiquer’s research has appeared in esteemed scholarly journals (such as the Financial Times-50-listed Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice) and has been presented in major conferences (e.g. the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, which gave special recognition); his research has also attracted funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Dancap Private Equity Faculty Research Award.

Zulfiquer serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Annals of Corporate Governance and on the Board of Directors of UWOFA, where he plays the executive role of Treasurer. He is also a member of the US-headquartered charity, Lions Clubs International, where he has received several awards in recognition of his humanitarian efforts and currently serves as an Advisor to District Governor.
