Dr. Ganesan's research focuses on neurological outcomes in critically ill children and on developing better tools to measure brain function at the bedside. His work spans quantitative EEG and network neuroscience, including graph-theoretical connectivity methods, alongside multimodal neuromonitoring and non-invasive optical and imaging approaches. Ongoing themes include biomarkers of neurological recovery after cardiac arrest, the characterization and detection of ICU delirium and disorders of consciousness, cerebral autoregulation, and the translation of emerging technologies such as transcranial Doppler and portable MRI into pediatric neurocritical care. The unifying aim is to move pediatric critical care toward objective, brain-focused monitoring that can guide treatment and improve long-term cognitive and functional outcomes.
