Dr. Shanmugalingam is a practicing psychiatrist at Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care. Outside of general adult inpatient and outpatient clinical duties, Dr. Shanmugalingam has also established a Neuropsychiatry clinic in conjunction with the Acquired Brain Injury ambulatory program.

Dr. Shanmugalingam has been actively involved in undergraduate education (UGE) and is the UGE Clerkship director.

Dr. Shanmugalingam has a keen interest in sports and has been a longstanding Raptors and Leafs fan.
