Associate Professor Jed Long conducts research in the Department of Geography and Environment at Western University. His scholarly work focuses on geographic information science, movement ecology, and spatial analysis, particularly the development of methods for analyzing tracking data. He investigates the spatial patterns of wildlife and human movement to inform conservation and urban planning strategies. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Victoria, he is a member of the Center for Animals on the Move and the Institute for Earth and Space Exploration. He teaches advanced geomatics and supervises graduate students in the Geospatial Lab, and he is currently available for mentorship and research consultation.
