Assistant Professor, Michael Boutilier, has a joint appointment in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. Boutilier is lauded for his significant contributions to the development of the department and is revered for his innovation, organization and dedication to teaching and departmental projects. In 2023, Boutilier received the Western Engineering Award of Recognition. He has also twice been named “Best Professor in Fourth Year” by graduating chemical engineering students. He received the R. Mohan Mathur Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2024.
