Associate Professor Lindsay A. Bell is in the Department of Anthropology and affiliated with Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Western University. Her scholarship explores language, political economy, aspiration, embodied social inequality, extractive industries, and visual anthropology across the Arctic, North America, and transnational corporate settings. She studies resource extraction, corporate ethics, health discourses, infertility, and embryo imaging through sociocultural and medical anthropology. Her research mission is to show how language, media, and material infrastructures shape unequal lives and ethical claims. She supervises graduate research and welcomes students interested in extractive industries, linguistic minorities, medical anthropology, and anthropology of education.
