BIO
Associate Professor Laura Batterink is a researcher in the Department of Psychology at Western University. Her primary investigative work centers on cognitive neuroscience, implicit learning, and language acquisition to understand how the brain extracts patterns from the environment without conscious awareness. She seeks to clarify the neural mechanisms that support the transition from unintentional to explicit knowledge during second language learning. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oregon, she is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience. She supervises graduate students in the Brain and Language Lab and is currently available for doctoral mentorship and research consultation.
