BIO
Assistant Professor Matthew Anderson serves in the Department of Ophthalmology at Western University. His research focuses on vitreoretinal surgery and retinal diseases, investigating novel surgical techniques for treating complex retinal detachments. He utilizes high-resolution optical coherence tomography to monitor post-operative healing and visual acuity. His mission is to advance the surgical management of vision-threatening conditions through refined micro-incisional protocols. He provides clinical supervision and surgical training to ophthalmology residents at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. He holds a Doctor of Medicine and completed fellowship training in diseases and surgery of the retina.
