Professor Erkan Demirkaya conducts research in the Department of Paediatrics and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. His work focuses on pediatric rheumatology, autoinflammatory diseases, and clinical epidemiology, particularly the long-term management of familial Mediterranean fever. He seeks to develop personalized treatment protocols for children with complex inflammatory disorders. Holding a Medical Degree and specialized training in pediatric health, he is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute and serves as the Director of the Child Health Research Institute. He supervises graduate students in the field of clinical research and is currently available for doctoral mentorship.
