BIO

Dr. Abhijit Biswas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He serves as Chair of the Pediatric Regional Anesthesia Special Interest Group (PEDS SIG) of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. In addition, he is the current President of the Professional Staff Organization (PSO) at St. Joseph’s Hospital and serves on the Board of Directors of St. Joseph’s Health Care London.

Dr. Biswas’s academic and clinical expertise spans both pediatric and adult regional anesthesia, with a particular focus on the anatomical and clinical evaluation of fascial plane blocks to optimize perioperative outcomes. His research program emphasizes innovation in regional anesthesia techniques and their translation to clinical practice. As a principal investigator, he has successfully led and completed multiple clinical trials and has provided mentorship to trainees and colleagues in clinical research methodology and implementation.
