Assistant Professor Ryan M. Troyer, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on retroviruses, herpesviruses, HIV, animal virus discovery, and viral disease models. His laboratory develops model systems to study how retroviruses and herpesviruses cause disease and collaborates on human and animal virus research with translational relevance. His research mission is to deepen mechanistic understanding of viral pathogenesis and create better platforms for studying emerging and persistent viral threats. He also contributes to collaborative virology research and graduate training at Western University.
