Professor Emil Schemitsch is a prominent researcher in the Department of Surgery at Western University. His research integrates orthopedic surgery, trauma, and clinical trials to improve the management of complex fractures and joint reconstruction. He focuses on the development of surgical techniques and biological therapies that enhance bone healing and functional recovery. A Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, he holds a Medical Degree from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
