Associate Professor Mahmoud Reza Azarpazhooh conducts research in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. His work focuses on stroke, epidemiology, and neuroimaging, particularly the relationship between cardiovascular health and cognitive impairment. He investigates global trends in stroke incidence and the long-term outcomes of patients with cerebrovascular disease. Having earned a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Science in Epidemiology, he is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience. He supervises graduate students exploring public health and neurology and is currently available for student inquiries and doctoral mentorship.
