Associate Professor Jacob Shelley is a researcher in the Faculty of Law and the School of Health Studies at Western University. His scholarly work emphasizes health law, public health ethics, and legal theory, particularly regarding the role of law in addressing chronic disease and promoting wellness. He investigates the intersection of private law and public health to understand how legal mechanisms can be utilized to protect population health. Holding a Doctor of Civil Law from McGill University, he is a member of the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. He co-directs the Health Ethics, Law, and Policy Lab and is currently available for graduate student supervision.
