BIO
Assistant Professor Patrick J. Moynihan, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on the mycobacterial cell envelope with emphasis on bacteriology, biochemistry, bacterial warfare, immune regulation, and mycobacterial diagnostics. His lab studies the enzymes and proteins that govern the mycobacterial cell wall and uses systems biology, microscopy, live cell assays, structural biology, and analytical chemistry to connect molecular function to pathogenesis. His mission is to uncover cell-envelope biology that can advance both discovery and patient care. He also supports graduate research training in the department.
