BIO
Professor Stanimir Metchev conducts research in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University. His work focuses on exoplanets, brown dwarfs, automated observatories, and optical/infrared remote sensing. He investigates the atmospheric properties and climate of substellar objects using ground-based and space-borne telescopes, and advances the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology for novel ground- and space-based astronomical research. He supervises postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students and is available for inquiries and research collaboration regarding planetary systems and astronomical instrumentation.
