BIO
Associate Professor Patrick Lajoie, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on secretory protein homeostasis, endoplasmic reticulum quality control, protein folding, cellular stress responses, and Candida albicans. His lab studies how the endoplasmic reticulum maintains protein folding under normal and pathological conditions and how stress signalling shapes aging and antifungal responses. His mission is to explain how cells preserve proteostasis and how its failure contributes to disease. He also supervises research trainees and brings prior postdoctoral training from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
