After training in internal medicine and gastroenterology in Ontario, Dr. Rahman completed advanced training in clinical nutrition at the University of Chicago.  He subsequently training in critical medicine medicine at the University of Toronto at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He has completed his Master’s of Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Rahman's career is to develop a programmatic program of research focusing on nutritional interventions to improve muscle mass and function in patients with serious illness.
