Description of Clinical and Research Activities: I am currently working on a rapid method of identifying bacterial pathogens from patients with suspected bacteremia. Other interests include the rapid and timely molecular diagnosis of Carbapnemase producing organisms. These resistance mechanisms contribute to significant mortality and morbidity among hospitalized patients.
